Foundation Repair Photo Album: 1910's Home in Comer, GA Settling
Mr. Jones purchased a historic 1910's home in Comer, GA. His main concern was that the walls along what appeared to be the foundation of the home were cracked, some leaning in towards the crawlspace, and some leaning towards the yard. Mr. Jones called Dritek Foundation Solutions to do a complete inspection of his home's foundation. Design Specialist Melissa Lynn, went out to do a full inspection. After a full inspection of Mr. Jones crawlspace and exterior of the home, Melissa was able to determine that the home was not being supported by the failing walls. The home and wrap around porch are supported by stone/brick columns. One of the previous owners actually had support jacks installed under the main home. The support beams and joists under the home were in great shape for the age of the home. After the inspection, Melissa did find that one column that supported the left corner of the porch was sinking, as well as the stone steps leading to the porch. Melissa was able to bring the customer out and tell him some good news that gave him peace of mind and offer the recommendation for piers at the column and steps. Mr. Jones expressed complete gratitude for the honest and educational experience and inspection!
